Meet Jeff, the Owner of Central Painting
Painting Sacramento-area homes since 1987. Running Central Painting since 2000. Still on the ladder, still doing the walkthrough himself.

Thirty-seven years in one valley
Jeff started painting homes in the Sacramento area in 1987 and has been here ever since. In 2000 he took out California contractor license #785742 under the name Central Painting, and the business has been run the same way from that day: the owner quotes the job, the owner paints the job, the owner walks it with you at the end.
Working one region for that long has a practical benefit that is easy to overlook. Jeff has watched how every local substrate fails — the T1-11 on Citrus Heights ranch homes, the hardboard seams on 1980s tracts, the builder-grade stucco coat on Roseville and Folsom two-stories, the original wood on Land Park and Curtis Park bungalows. That is not something you can read in a product data sheet.
Why no subcontractors
Most painting companies past a certain size stop painting and start dispatching. The person who sells you the job is a salesperson, the crew who arrive are subcontractors, and the standard drifts because nobody who cares about the company name is actually holding a brush.
Central Painting has stayed deliberately small enough that it does not have to work that way. Jeff and his own crew do every job. It caps how many projects run at once, and that is the trade-off — but it is also the reason the reviews say the same thing over and over: he showed up, he finished when he said he would, and it cost what he quoted.
