Painting Services Across Greater Sacramento
Interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, deck and fence staining, pressure washing and custom work — all done by Jeff and his own crew, never subcontracted out.

Six services, one standard of prep
Whatever the job, the sequence is the same: protect the space, do the prep properly, then two full coats.

Interior Painting
Crisp cut-in lines, no roller marks, and a house that's put back together every evening. Full repaints, single rooms, ceilings, trim, doors and accent walls.

Exterior Painting
Wash, scrape, prime and caulk before a drop of finish paint goes on — because in this climate the prep is what decides whether you repaint in six years or fifteen.

Cabinet Painting & Refinishing
New cabinets are a five-figure decision. Refinishing the boxes and doors you already have gets you most of the way there for a fraction of it — if the prep is done right.

Deck & Fence Staining
Decks, fences, patio covers, pergolas and gates — cleaned, prepped and sealed so the wood stops greying out and starts looking like wood again.

Pressure Washing
Correct pressure for the surface. Concrete takes what wood and stucco absolutely cannot, and using one setting for everything is how siding gets scarred.

Custom & Specialty Painting
Brick and stone fireplaces, feature walls, built-ins, detached garages, sheds and garden structures — the projects that don't fit a standard square-foot quote.
Learn moreWhy the prep matters more than the paint
Two painters can use the identical can of paint and give you results a decade apart. What separates them happens before the first coat.
Jeff is on site, every job
Not a salesperson who hands you to a crew you have never met. The person who quotes your home is the person painting it, from the first coat to the final walkthrough.
No subcontractors, ever
Every job is done by Jeff and his own crew. That is why the standard is the same on job four hundred as it was on job four.
Painting local homes since 1987
Painting Sacramento-area homes since 1987, and running Central Painting since 2000. Long enough to have seen how every local substrate fails, and why.
Licensed California contractor

Questions about our services
How much does it cost to paint a house in the Sacramento area?
It depends on square footage, surface condition, height and access, how many colors are involved, and the substrate. As a rough guide, across the Sacramento-area market exterior repaints commonly land between $3,200 and $12,000, and full interior repaints between $3,000 and $13,000. Those are area averages rather than Central Painting’s rates. Your written estimate after Jeff has seen the property is free and exact.
Are estimates really free?
Yes. Every estimate is free, in writing, with no pressure and no obligation. Most are scheduled within a few days of your call or text.
Does Jeff personally work on every job?
Yes. Central Painting does not send subcontractors. Jeff is on site from the first coat to the final walkthrough on every project.
Are you licensed?
Yes — California contractors license #785742, C-33 Painting and Decorating, issued October 2000 and current and active. Central Painting also carries a $25,000 contractor's bond. You can verify all of it yourself on the CSLB website at any time.
What areas do you serve?
Citrus Heights, Sacramento, Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, Elk Grove, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Antelope, Granite Bay, El Dorado Hills, Rancho Cordova, Lincoln, Loomis, Auburn, West Sacramento and the surrounding communities — generally within about 50 miles of Citrus Heights.
How soon can you start?
Most estimates are scheduled within a few days. Start dates depend on the season — spring and early fall are the busiest months for exterior work — and you will be given a realistic date, not an optimistic one.
Do you paint commercial properties?
Yes, alongside residential work. Offices, rentals, common areas and small commercial buildings across the greater Sacramento area.
What kind of paint do you use?
Quality exterior and interior products appropriate to the substrate and the exposure, and we will walk you through the options and the price difference rather than deciding for you.
Do you help with color selection?
Yes. Jeff will talk through options during the estimate, and we can put sample boards up so you can see colors on your own walls, in your own light, before committing.
Do you work with Realtors on listing prep?
Regularly — several of our long-standing clients are local Realtors preparing homes for market, where hitting the timeline matters as much as the finish.
Not sure which service you need?
Tell Jeff what is bothering you about the house and he will tell you straight what it needs — and what it does not.
